Worship
Music & Arts
The Kirk has an active music ministry with offerings for singers, ringers and instrumentalists interested in participating in our many worship services. Consider joining our caring community of musicians!
WE PRAISE GOD IN MANY WAYS USING OUR UNIQUE GOD-GIVEN TALENTS IN MUSIC.
Our children’s music ministry is structured to teach musical skills, strengthen faith, and enable the whole person to be spiritually as well as musically nurtured. For adults, we have developed a variety of groups to meet the interests and skill levels of our diverse congregation.
Music at
“The Kirk”
Our goals are threefold:
The “Arts” refer to liturgical dance and dramatic skits that are done occasionally. There is free, certified childcare available for all adult music ministry rehearsals. Please join us!

Singing Choirs and Ringing Choirs
Youth auditioned bell choir

Our most advanced ringing group at the Kirk, this group of ringers graduated from the younger bell choirs and many started with the chime choir in Kindergarten! The music in this group requires advanced reading and ringing techniques. If you are a new youth to the Kirk and would like more information, contact director Larry Abernathy. They take a spring music mission trip and lead in worship and other special events.

Our Youth Choir (6th grade to 12th grade) ensemble leads in worship monthly, takes a yearly trip usually in the spring and joins the Chancel Choir occasionally for special events. Larry Abernathy directs this choir. No other music experience is necessary, and participants are invited to remain for youth group. There’s always room for more singers!
Adults & College Students
Ringing and Singing Choirs
Chancel Choir
Wednesdays 7:15 – 8:50 pm (Sanctuary)
High School students and adults are all invited to join our Chancel Choir. Join this group that loves to sing! We are not a professional choir, but a group of volunteers coming together raising our voices in praise to God and leading worship weekly at the Sunday morning services. This group prepares larger works with orchestras, as well, and we even toured in Ireland in 2024.
For more information, contact Larry Abernathy.
Tree of Life Acoustic Group
This is a small folk ensemble of singers and acoustic guitar players, string players and other instrumentalists normally associated with folk and contemporary music. We lead worship periodically as well as other special events.

Kirk Tech/AV
Team
“Where the Message Meets the Masses”
The goal of the AV team is to ensure that God’s message, as transmitted through The Kirk, can be heard by the widest possible audience. Coordinated by Elias S., we use audio and video tools to ensure that those in the church and those at home can experience the richness of services. We also support AV needs so that musical and community events around the church campus can be experienced in their fullness. We are always looking for people who are interested in AV to give us a try and share in our mission. No previous experience is necessary; just a willingness to learn new skills using the sound equipment and video cameras.
Contact Elias S. for more information.
Instrumentalists
The Kirk is blessed to have a number of instrumentalists – middle schoolers through adults – who have played instruments. They provide vital leadership to our worship services several times during the year and especially at Christmas and Easter. If you have previously played an instrument but haven’t done so lately– get it out and start practicing! Brass, Winds, Strings, Percussion – all types are needed. Instrumentalists meet on an ‘as needed’ basis.
If you are interested in joining a fun group of players, contact Larry Abernathy.
