What is Breeze?
Breeze is a Church Management System (ChMS) that helps churches maintain member and visitor data, events, giving and much more. The Kirk selected Breeze for its ease of use, rich functionality and its ability to serve a diverse range of users.
How do I access Breeze?
You can access Breeze from any web browser at https://kirk.breezechms.com or by downloading the Breeze app from the Apple or Google app stores. The app is free. When prompted for a subdomain, please enter “Kirk”.
Who will see my information?
Breeze has the ability for different types of users. Think Members, Pastors, Church Finance Team, etc. Each user in Breeze is assigned to a user group which in turn controls what information that user can see and what functions within Breeze they can perform.
Each individual within Breeze is given a profile that stores information about that person.
Generally speaking, Kirk members can see names, addresses, email addresses and phone numbers of other members. Pastors and non-Finance staff can see all of a user’s profile data with the exception of giving data.
What information can I change?
Users have the ability to change their basic profile information as well as that information of their family members. Additionally they have the ability to make certain fields “private” which will hide that information from view of other members (pastors and church staff will still be able to view this information). Other data in your profile is for the Kirk’s use and is maintained by the Kirk staff (think Membership dates, Ordination dates, etc.).
There is an error in my profile, how can I correct it?
If you are unable to edit something on your profile, please contact the Kirk Office at 919-467-4944.
How do I upload/change my picture?
In a web browser, click on the “My Profile” tab at the top of the screen and then click on the picture icon. Follow the instructions on the screen to upload your picture and then select it to enable the picture.
In the Breeze app on your phone or tablet, click on “My Profile” tab at the bottom of the screen and then click the picture icon. For more information click here.
Note: The Kirk discourages you from uploading your child’s picture on their profile.
How do I make my information private?
To hide your address, phone number or email address from being viewed by other members, tap or select the contact section of your profile and select or tap “click to edit section”. For each section (phone numbers, email and address), select “show more options”. From there you can choose to make information “make private” which will hide data from other members, but will allow church staff and other users authorized by the Session the ability to view this information. Be sure to click the save button.
Why do I have to keep logging in?
Much like banking and other applications, Breeze automatically logs you out of the application after 30 minutes of inactivity. We do this to protect your personal and financial data stored within the application as well as the contact details of other members.
I need help, who do I contact?
If you need help, please contact the Kirk Office at 919-467-4944.
How are you protecting my children’s privacy?
When the profile of your child is first created, the Kirk will set their mobile phone number and email address as private. When another member views your child’s information, they will see their name, home address and home phone number as well as their family members. As a parent, you have the ability to make this information public, but you are strongly discouraged from doing so.
As your children age, you may find it appropriate to add their personal mobile phone number and email address to their profile. This information is useful for Kirk staff in particular to communicate with your youth. Should you add or update these fields, please ensure that they are marked private if you do not wish for other members to have access to this information.
I don’t see my friend’s name, why?
Only members of the Kirk of Kildaire and their children can be viewed from within Breeze. If you do not see your friend, it is likely that they have not been received into membership and are a long time visitor.
I have more than 1 email address, how can I add another email address?
Edit the contact section of your profile and in the email field enter the additional email address, separated by a comma “,”. When the Kirk sends an email, you will receive it at all email addresses provided.
How do I receive informational text messages from the Kirk?
Text messages from the Kirk will only be sent from a staff member and will be for information only (i.e. “Don’t forget, worship will be held at Bond Park this morning”). The text will start with “Breeze-kirk:” followed by the message. You will not be able to reply to them.
You will need to “Opt-in” to receive these types of text messages. To do that go to your profile and click “Enroll to Receive Text Messages” under your mobile number at the top of the screen (near your picture). Indicate the method of consent, by choosing “This is my number” and clicking “Enroll”. Breeze will then send you a text message asking you to verify your desire to receive text message from the Kirk. Answer the question “yes” and send the text message.
As a member, you can text another member from the app by clicking “send SMS” next to mobile number. This will open the messaging app on your mobile device and will text that member directly. It will not show as coming from the Kirk.
How can I stop receiving text messages from the Kirk or a member?
To stop receiving informational text messages from the Kirk, tap or select the Contact section of your profile and select or tap “click to edit section”, click “show more options “under your phone numbers and select “Do Not Text” and click save.
To stop receiving text from other members, you can simply mark your mobile number as private.
Giving
How do I keep my financial data safe?
Financial transactions made in Breeze are processed by Stripe, a PCI Service Provider Level 1. Breeze does not store credit card data.
All other data stored in Breeze is encrypted with industry standard protection.
I have a recurring gift scheduled, but I don’t see it in Breeze. What should I do?
Recurring gifts must be set up within Breeze as they did not transfer from our prior system. Please set up your recurring gift from the “Give Now” tab and cancel your prior recurring gift from the old system. If you need assistance, please contact Ellen Chambers, Finance Manager, in the Kirk Office at 919-467-4944.
Who can see my financial data?
Only authorized Finance staff members and one Finance volunteer are able to see your financial transactions, pledges and giving history. Our volunteer counters see donations on the dates they count, but have no access to cumulative data or pledges. Pastors and non-Financial staff do not have access to this information. Only those with a clear need to know this information have access to it.
How do I give online?
Click the “Give Now” tab, enter the amount of your gift, select the frequency of your gift and the method of payment.
How do I set up a recurring gift?
On the Give Now tab, choose Recurring Gifts and then click “+New Gift”. Select the frequency of your gift and the method of payment.
Note: Breeze does not currently have an option to set an end date for your recurring gift. To change or stop a recurring gift, select “change” on the recurring gift you want to change or stop and select the appropriate action on the next screen. Our Finance Manager can also help you stop a recurring gift.
How do I see my pledge?
Click the “My Profile” tab and then select Giving. Click Pledges to view your pledge and progress against your pledge to date.
I don’t see the progress of my giving against my pledge?
If you give with your spouse or partner, the progress against giving will only show up on one member’s profile. This is a known issue with Breeze and they are working on rectifying it. If you cannot see progress toward giving on your profile, check your spouse or partner’s profile. Your statement will show up correctly with giving attributed to the household.
I submitted a pledge, but I don’t see any giving?
Submitting a pledge tells the Kirk of your intent to give for the next year. It does NOT trigger any action from your bank accounts or credit cards. In order to fulfill your pledge, go the “Give Now” link on our website to set up either a one-time gift or a recurring gift, as you prefer.
Will I still get an end of year giving statement?
Yes. End of year giving statements will be sent to you via email or traditional mail just as before.
I have questions about giving, who do I contact?
Contact Ellen Chambers, Finance Manager, in the Kirk Office with any questions about donations. The phone number is 919-467-4944.
